Centrally located for visitors to explore and enjoy both Lerwick itself and everything else Shetland has to offer, Fort Charlotte Self-Catering is situated right in the heart of Lerwick's old town centre. The garden wall is actually one of the walls of Fort Charlotte, which is looked after by Historic Scotland. Both apartments look straight onto Lerwick's main shopping area, Commercial Street. The cream of Lerwick's eateries are just a stone's throw away.

Built in 1886, Fort Charlotte Self-Catering offers the very highest standard of hospitality, with fresh, clean, modern accommodation. You will be warmly welcomed and every care taken to ensure you have the best holiday possible with lots of local tips and honest advice on what to see and do, and where to eat.

The property was completely renovated to a very high standard in 2013, the upper floor property has 3 spacious bedrooms; 2 double (one with an ensuite shower room) & one twin bedroom, sleeping up to 6 people in total. In addition, there is a fully equipped kitchen and beautiful main bathroom. All tastefully and sympathetically renovated, maintaining original features wherever possible.

The lower apartment, accessed from the garden on the ground floor, was completed in 2017. This is another self contained apartment with 3 double bedrooms, a bathroom and large kitchen/diner/living room. The properties can be booked separately or they make the perfect base for large groups of upto 12 guests, who wish to be together while also having plenty of space.

You will find beautiful complimentary toiletries in all the bathrooms made locally by the successful social enterprise the Shetland Soap Company.

In 2019, the properties were awarded a Scottish Tourist Board Four-Star rating for Self Catering accommodation. They work hard to maintain this high level of hospitality and you can be sure that a warm welcome awaits you.
