Paula is passionate about what she does and can tailor a tour for you, whatever your interests. Shetland has so much to offer from nature watching, walking and adventure holidays to archaeology, geology and Viking history. Paula has a wealth of knowledge on Shetland, and as someone who has enjoyed exploring and discovering Shetland for herself, she knows the experiences that will stay with you.

The Scottish Tourist Guides Association are the professional membership body for fully trained and accredited tourist guides in Scotland. As an STGA guide, Paula has successfully completed a rigorous programme of training and assessment before being admitted to membership of the Association. The training covers knowledge of Shetland’s history, culture, and landscape, but also includes practical training in professional guiding skills (including group management and safety) and effective communication.

Aperture Shetland can organise bespoke tours for individuals and small family groups, as wells as coach tours and shore excursions for cruise liners, and everything in between!

As the company name would suggest, Paula’s first love is photography. She has always enjoyed photography but moving to Shetland really allowed her to take it to another level. She started to appreciate Shetland through the lens, and soon realised that this was a special place to live and work. She is happy to share that experience with you and takes visitors to all the best places to capture images of Shetland’s beauty, or simple to sit back and enjoy it.

As you can see from her images, wildlife is one of her specialities and she enjoys guiding visitors to the best places to watch wildlife and experience the best that Shetland has to offer, sharing her passion and knowledge of Shetland.
